Fuerteventura is with its contrasting landscapes an Island full of secrets and beauty, a wilderness full of surprises in the Atlantic.       If you want to spend your holidays in Feurteventura you shouldn’t expect the usual big excursions or cultural trips. Renting a car to explore the Island is really worth it though. If you plan to drive through the Mountains then you will need to take your time as many of the roads are very narrow and you can’t drive quickly.Rent a car

     You can take some wonderful drives on the Island of Fuerteventura. The advantage is that the destinations are very close together. The Island is only 94 km long and 28 km wide! You can enjoy the Island in full and Stop of at all the most beautiful Beaches too.

     Faro de Jandia: This is the most southerly point of the Island. When you have driven past Jandia and Morro Jable you can see the lighthouse at the end of the crushed stone runway. The view from this point is unbelievable.

      Pico de Jandia: Here you have another breath-taking view of the West coast and the empty sandy beach Playa de Cofete. Below the Pico de Jandia lies the legendary Villa Winter.

      Dead centre between La Pa- red und Pajara lies The American Star a stranded steamer it has been here since 1947– (unfortuna- tely only half of it is left to be seen!).     Betancuria -The former Capital. The town lies in a picturesque valley. Here you have the opportunity to talk to the locals about the history of the Island. It lies near an old dried up stream, which flowed until the 16th Century.

    - The "Valley of the thousand palm trees"- also lies near Betancuria. It is the greenest part of Fuerteventura.

      Antigua is one of the largest towns on the Island. It is a charming picturesque village, it is also very green which is unusual for Fuerteventura.

      El Cotillo the main beach on the West coast of the Island. El Cotillo lies on the same lateral height as Corralejo. The beach is beautifually situated very close to the small village it is very easy to assess. What is especially romantic is the little bay where the beach is set.
